The name Deraya دراية is an Arabic word meaning “knowledge and awareness”. We believe that the key to our success is our knowledge about the services we sell and the optimum ways of reaching our prospective customers. Deraya was founded in 2002 as an Egyptian sales services company providing high quality services to reputable and large corporations. Deraya offered sales outsourcing services as well as sales training and development, and consultancy. It was the first company in Egypt offering sales outsourcing services to insurance companies, real estate developers, financial institutions, as well as information technology and telecommunication companies

Chairman & CEO
With more than 20 years of professional management experience, Mr. Mohamed Shafei is a people oriented entrepreneur, who believes that people, whether employees, customers, suppliers or partners, are the key milestone for the success of any business proposition.
Having a track record of building mega customer-focused Sales operations of 300+ account executives, Mr. Mohamed believes that a people oriented culture that attracts, trains, retains, and grows the top performers in the society, is the key for the success of any organization.
Without ensuring the satisfaction, growth, and prosperity of involved people, no one can achieve a successful long-term business relationship.
Mr. Shafei is one of the founders of Deraya Sales Services in 2002.
Leveraging his cross-industry expertise that extends to more than 20 years in the FMCG, Financial Services, IT, and Real Estate industries, he was able to lead Deraya with his partners to become the leading sales services company in Egypt. Since 2005, Mr. Shafei lead the establishment of Deraya Real Estate.
Prior to the establishment of Deraya, he served as the Resident Vice President Sales, Citi Bank Global Consumer Bank. During this position, he co-founded and managed a distributor of more than 300 employees selling Citi Bank financial products.
During his early career years, he held several leading positions at Procter and Gamble in the areas of Sales and Customer Business Development.
He holds a Bachelor of Science majoring in Mechanical Engineering from the American University in Cairo as well as a Master Degree in Business Administration focusing on International Business from Maastricht School of Management, the Netherlands.
Hashem El Kadi
With more than 12 years in leading and managing sales operations, Mr. El Kadi believes that building real partnerships with clients, developers and even competition is the ultimate way for achieving success.
His passion for growth and thrive for results were his key drivers during the various stages in his professional career.
Mr. El Kadi has a proven track record of success in managing sales teams in both the FMCG and Real Estate industries.
He held several sales management positions in Proctor and Gamble’s Partner in Saudi Arabia (IATCO) and MARS prior to joining Deraya in 2008 where he was a key contributor to the growth and development on its Real Estate Sector.
Through heading the sales operation of one of Egypt’s most prominent Real Estate developers, Mr. El Kadi led the launches of real estate projects that generated unprecedented revenues and impact in the Egyptian Real Estate Market.
Mr. El Kadi holds a Bachelor of Arts from the American University in Cairo majoring in Business Administration with a concentration of Marketing.
During University years, he was involved in a number of key extra-curricular activities where he was selected to head the Organizing Committee of the 3rd International Conference on Global Economy.
During his work career, Mr. El Kadi has received and delivered several world class trainings in the fields of communication, coaching and situational leadership.
Mr. El Kadi is a founder and member of the Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Hope Bank; an emerging NGO that targets and works on developing the skills and capabilities of the Egyptian work force..
